Fasten Your Seatbelts!

01 APRIL 2014

CoCo and the Butterfields partner up with new UK based Airline company, "though we little suspected we'd ever be the 'face' of any product or service, some offers are too good to refuse - and this one came with the possibility of designing our own plane". Even better than that, while the brand new Boeing VC-26 still has some downtime, the band are elligible to be flown up and down the country during their extensive gigging season. It looks like the Butterfields have finally taken off.

Partnership Announced

After months of top secret plans, we're finally allowed to announce a ridiculously exciting endorsement deal whereby we'll have private access to, not just a jet plane, but a full-size commercial Jumbo Jet. Yes, really. The Airline's name is set to be "Airwaves", incorporating music and air travel in a way unprecedented by the current market - they aim to transform air travel from a mere "convenience" to an entertaining and rewarding (but yet afforadable) creative experience. Having successfully kept themselves under the radar, Airwaves will soon be making a national announcement of their own.

So how did we get involved? Well, Airwaves were searching for a suitable UK act to spearhead their PR campaign, since they knew they'd want to launch with a bang (an otherwise unpopular notion in the aviation community), and specifically they wanted a band who were both widely accessible and who shared their passion for creativity. And here we were! Having caught their eye at various gigs in our illustrious capital, we were approached by the team of creative directors, soon entering into long but awe-inspiring discussions about ways and means.

Ron

Frank

Betty

CoCo and the Butterfields' expanding fleet of vibrant vehicles takes to the skies with the addition of "Betty", the Boeing VC-26 (a variation of the popular 747 'Jumbo Jet', more closely resembling the American Air Force One). Though Betty is the first of her kind, plenty more will follow in her wake - though the bespoke expressive paint work will remain uniquely a "one-off": a stipulation for the band's involvement in the company, and a rather quaint (if baffling) idiosyncracy.

On the Airwaves

Brief excerpts of the flight tests show Betty on one of her early evaluation flights. Newly painted and lacquered, aeronautical engineers must put her through her paces and ensure all safety mechanisms are operational. As Airwaves reach the final stages of licencing, the plane will be made available (pilot included) to CoCo and the Butterfields during the summer months, in lieu of supporting the main fleet after further tests.

Meanwhile, we've been working with the company on promotional materials, including photography, videos and naturally, theme music for the venture. One obvious contender for the campaign title track is "Fly", of which you can hear a short sample here:

The full version of Fly is available to purchase on the newly released "Fip Fok" E.P. (see below).

Frankly Silly

Decorating our bandwagon "Frank", set to Scarecrow
(which is available here).

As a band we're quite keen to deliver more than just music (and a particularly handsome lineup). "Making stuff" is at the heart of who we are and what we do, so it comes as no surprise that we enjoy making a mess of things.

Fip Fok E.P. Re Release

"Fip Fok" was the debut E.P. from CoCo and the Butterfields, as a live recording. Now it's back, re-recorded to very high quality and mastered by Dave Greenberg in Florida, USA. It can be downloaded (or CD pre-ordered) directly from here, and will be available at all the internet retailers very soon.

Fip Fok takes its name from our own namesake genre, an amalgamation of Folk, Pop and Hip Hop. It features 4 original tracks as follows:

1. Walls 4:29

2. Fly 5:18

3. Tipperary Boy 4:05

4. Hip Hop Song 4:23
